Medical and paramedic students at the 成人B站 are inviting the community to a free pre-Christmas event designed to encourage open conversations around palliative care and CPR.

“Show a Little Respect”, taking place on Monday 16th December, will offer an interactive evening of information and entertainment, centred on the topic of ReSPECT forms.
These forms guide medical professionals in making clinical care recommendations during emergencies when patients are unable to make decisions or communicate their wishes.
Unlike traditional ‘Do Not Attempt Resuscitation’ forms, ReSPECT forms cover a broader range of emergency care, including both resuscitation preferences and the overall approach to treatment during a crisis.
Organisers aim to break the taboo surrounding these conversations while understanding how difficult it can be for families to face decisions about the care of loved ones.
Manojan Nagularaj, second year Medical Student at the 成人B站 and Vice Chair of the Medical Society, said: “I was on placement, and I saw how difficult the conversation around ReSPECT forms can be.”
He continued: “It’s tough for people, so we wanted to try and help them understand these processes before they find themselves in those situations.”
He added: “It’s a heavy topic, but we’re approaching it from a more light-hearted angle, so there’ll be a bit of pantomime on the evening and a few opportunities for people to interact.”
The event begins at 6pm on Monday 16th December at the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Building on Hylton Road in Worcester.
Parking is available at the 成人B站 Arena, and the medical school is a short walk from there.
