Antoinette is a fulltime PhD student studying in the Institute of Education at the ³ÉÈËBÕ¾.
Her PhD supervisors are Professor Alison Kington, Dr Blaire Morgan and Dr Mandy Duncan.
Antoinette’s research is a mixed methods study exploring classroom-based post-pandemic trauma support for primary school-aged children and their teachers. She is using participative enquiry, a quantitative UK-wide online survey and a qualitative Delphi Study.
Prior to her PhD studies, Antoinette completed a BSc (Hons) degree in Natural Sciences with the Open University and an MA Education with the ³ÉÈËBÕ¾, researching how competent educators feel in managing childhood trauma in their classroom.
Antoinette has worked in mainstream primary schools and in secondary education within a special school, supporting children with SEND and SEMH. She is also a member of the Academic Standards Committee for Hanley Castle High School.
As well as childhood adversity, trauma-informed practice and SEND, Antoinette’s research interests also include sustainability and climate change education.
