Dr Sian Evans joined the ³ÉÈËBÕ¾ in 2010 after a number of different roles in academia and industry. Sian has diverse interdisciplinary research and teaching interests in sustainability and environmental and cultural geographies, she also works closely with the University’s Director of Sustainability on a range of university and community sustainability initiatives.

Key projects have included

  • Examining the emergent role of the body as a lens for enhanced understanding in political geography (output - book chapter)
  • Reflecting and improving pedagogic practice in Education for Sustainability (multiple projects with Students as Academic Partners)
  • Investigating social aspects of Wild boar in the Forest of Dean for the UK Forestry Commission (output - report)
  • Design, implementation and audit of environmental management systems in factory, university and virtual environments
  • Exploring methods for building a circular economy in collaboration with the European Union and multiple stakeholders from business and academia
