Emma is a part-time PhD student in the Three Counties School of Nursing and Midwifery at the ³ÉÈËBÕ¾.
Emma’s main research interest is an exploration of the school nurse roll to enhance the wellbeing of adolescents in private education. Her PhD research concerns the emotional wellbeing of adolescents and the use of therapeutic conversation. Emma is considering a mixed methods study into the narratives of school nurses working with adolescents in private education to explore the school nurses’ use of therapeutic conversation and its benefits to enhance wellbeing and positive mental health outcomes.
Her supervisors are Dr Kerry Gaskin, Dr Blaire Morgan and Prof. Alison Kington.
In addition to working towards her PhD, Emma works as a School Nurse.
