Jacqueline’s adult nurse education began in Trinidad and Tobago in 1987. She completed her first degree in Environmental Health at the National Institute for Health, Education, Science and Technology (NIHERST) in Trinidad in 1990 and worked as a Public Health Inspector until she emigrated to the UK in 1999. Jacqueline resumed her nursing career in a nurse-led Intermediate Care and Rehabilitation Unit Community Hospital in Middlesex, and it was there the seeds were planted for what was to become a passion for adult nursing.

In 2004, Jacqueline assumed the role of Clinical Ward Manager of a 60-bed Intermediate Care and Rehabilitation Unit at Brent PCT. She achieved her BSc Hons (First Class) Nursing degree at Buckinghamshire New University in 2006 and joined the university’s Faculty of Health and Society as a Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing, Module Leader and Clinical Link Tutor later that year.

From 2008 to 2016, Jacqueline worked as Lead Specialist on Innovate UK’s Assisted Living Innovation Platform and, during this time, earnt an MA in Education. In 2015, she worked as a Visiting Lecturer in Clinical Skills and Simulation at Middlesex University and, in 2022, took up the role of Visiting Lecturer and Module Leader at Birmingham City University on the Masters’ Pre-registration Nursing programme.

In August 2023, Jacqueline joined the ³ÉÈËBÕ¾’s School of Nursing as a Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing.
