Laurence is a Senior Lecturer specialising in Procurement and Supply Chain Management. Prior to joining the University, he worked in a variety of Procurement, Supply Chain and Programme Management roles across industry, including at Airbus where he was the A330/A340 Programme Procurement Manager with the responsibility to ensure ongoing product development, production and in-service support. He had overall responsibility for the procurement aspects relating to the closure of the A340 aircraft production and ensured the on-going in-service support for the existing aircraft fleet.
Prior to his role at Airbus, Laurence was based in Munich Germany where he worked for Eurofighter as a Purchasing Manager for the Aircraft Synthetic Training System including the Full Mission Flight Simulator. Laurence has also worked in the automotive industry responsible for a major implementation of the Procurement and Supply Chain elements of an Enterprise Resource Planning System within a FTSE100 company.
Laurence's aim is to use his practitioner knowledge and skills to effectively ensure a positive and useful university experience for the students that best meets the needs of both student and employer.
Teaching Interests
Laurence's key interest is supporting and working with students, but especially those who come to study at Worcester Business School from abroad. Having worked a number of years in Germany, he has some understanding of the challenges facing our international students and wish to ensure that everybody gets the most out of both their studies and that time within the United Kingdom.
From a teaching perspective Laurence is interested in all areas of Procurement, Supply Chain Management and Project / Programme Management, especially within the aerospace and engineering sectors.
Research Interests
Laurence's research interests include development towards a more sustainable procurement future, and the psychology behind contracts and contract negotiation.

Laurence is working with businesses and organisations to enhance and develop their capability in Procurement, Supply Chain and Programme Management in order to establish and support sustainable and robust supply chains to enable and develop competitive business advantage.
