Mireia is originally from Barcelona where she qualified as an adult nurse in 2016.

After finishing her degree, she worked in several accident and emergency departments as a Band 5 staff nurse in Bristol, before completing a qualification in Midwifery in 2022 at London South Bank University.

After that, she came back to Bristol to work for a year in an outpatients oncology department, where she expanded her knowledge around the topics of oncology and haematology nursing. She also completed a short professional course about Principles of Cancer Care in the University of the West of England.

She is passionate about evidence-based practice and bridging the gap between theory and applied skills in nursing. Her areas of interest include acute care in the emergency setting, applied physiology/physiopathology and ethics and philosophy of nursing.

She is very willing to start a career in academia and fulfil a support role for students in their education journey.
