Lisa is the Pro Vice Chancellor for Education, Culture and Society and a member of the University Executive Board. She provides leadership to the Institute of Arts and Humanities, Institute of Education and Worcester Business School with a focus on delivering an outstanding academic experience for all students, enhancing research and enterprise and developing the University's educational offer. Prior to joining the ³ÉÈËBÕ¾ Lisa held senior academic posts at the University of Huddersfield and Leeds Beckett University.
Lisa is passionate about the university values of widening participation, diversity, equality, inclusion and academic freedom and as an individual who has taught at Secondary, Further and Higher Education levels, is an enthusiastic advocate about the opportunities that higher education can offer.
As a Professor of Arts and Culture Lisa has a background as a practising artist. Her current cross-disciplinary research is located around sports and arts with a particular interest in cultural olympiads, cultural policy, design for sport and practice-based performance and endurance work. She has a sustained record of high-quality research outputs that include practice-based exhibitions, artefacts, journal articles and book chapters. She has supervised doctoral students across arts, design, humanities and sport.
She has previously been involved in external work through trustee and (non-executive) Chair positions. In 2018, she was appointed as the Chair of The Board of Directors for Axisweb, a national independent arts charity. She is also the Co-Chair of The National Association of Fine Art Education and a fellow of The Royal Society for Arts. Lisa has also been called upon to input into advocacy and policy work nationally for a range of organisations and institutions around the value of creative education and economic recovery for the creative sector post-pandemic.
