Qualifications

Qualifying as a Registered Nurse in 2003 from the University of the West of England, Rebekah initially worked at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust as a Chemotherapy Nurse, working both in the day case oncology unit and the mobile unit across the county. Rebekah found that community working was her passion and moved to work in the county-wide IV therapy team, delivering IV antibiotics closer to or at home.

In 2015, Rebekah completed her MSc in Specialist Practice her Master’s dissertation was on the topic of community IV therapy.

In 2018 Rebekah joined the University of Gloucestershire as a Skills & Simulation technician and after setting up and managing the skills labs, Rebekah moved into lecturing in April 2020.

In February 2022 Rebekah started her EdD (Doctor of Education) programme at the University of Gloucestershire.

Rebekah left practice in 2018 to become a Skills & Simulation Technician, finally becoming a lecturer in skills and simulation-based education in 2022.

Rebekah is delighted to teach across the Practice modules, teaching clinical skills to students and developing simulation-based education and Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) in undergraduate nursing.

Rebekah has volunteered at the Commonwealth Games (Aug 2022) and the UCI Cycling World Championships (Aug 2023).  She is hoping to be selected as a volunteer for the Olympics or the Para-Olympics in 2024.  Aside from volunteering, Rebekah is a keen wild swimmer and Visually Impaired guide runner.

Teaching Interests

Rebekah is currently attending the University of Gloucestershire and is undertaking her EdD.

Rebekah is interested in skills and simulation-based education. Alongside bringing in Anatomy & Physiology theory into clinical skills sessions, this is because A&P is the foundation of all clinical skills.
