Stuart graduated from the ³ÉÈËBÕ¾ with a BSc (Hons) Sports and Exercise Science degree. Stuart has a keen interest in strength and conditioning, which has led him to undertake an MSc in Applied Sports and Exercise Science and his UKSCA Strength and Conditioning accreditation exams. Stuart's research focus, as part of his MSc, is the topic of bilateral strength deficit and its impact on sporting performance.

Scope of Role at University

Stuart is the first point of contact for academic, student and community groups who wish to use practical facilities across three sites, such as the Sports Centre, Riverside and University Arena. Additionally, Stuart works closely with the Director of Sport Partnership and Community Engagement, to manage and cultivate new and existing partnerships within and external to the University. Stuart works cross-departmentally to ensure that daily operations are kept at a high standard, whilst offering operational support to all groups and individual students who visit the University’s practical sports facilities.

Internal Responsibilities:

Stuart, along with a four strong supervisory team, timetables all academic, student sport, community, senior and recreation practical facility usage across three sites. Stuart works closely with the Students’ Union in order to facilitate and manage student sport training and fixture requirements, as well as aiding fundraising and charity events. In the same fashion, Stuart also works closely with internal and external client groups, including the Worcester Wolves and Severn Stars ³ÉÈËBÕ¾ franchise teams.

External Responsibilities:

Stuart has given over 200 voluntary hours of Strength and Conditioning provision, to help deliver the student performance programme, working with rowing, football, badminton and TASS athletes.

Industry Background

Stuart worked as a gym instructor/duty manager at a health and fitness club, prior to coming to the University.
